Membership recruitment and retention officer
Rebecca has been a member of the Labour Party for many years and is committed to the principles of equity and fairness. She believes that the Labour Party offers the best chance of a fairer and more cohesive country.
She moved to West Berkshire in March 2020 and one of her first things on the To Do List was to update her Labour Party Membership from Hackney South & Shoreditch to Newbury. She has been active in all the various constituencies she has lived in and is looking forward to meeting the Newbury team and members face to face, having up to now only attended meetings on Zoom!
Rebecca has worked in higher education, supporting and advising disabled students since 2006 and is an active trade union member. She currently works at SOAS and is a member of UCU. While working at City, University of London she was Branch President of UCU for 3 years and was proud to lead the pensions strike of 2018, UCU’s biggest and most successful industrial action at that time.
Rebecca was delighted to be elected as Newbury CLP Membership Recruitment and Retention Officer in March 2021 and is looking forward to meeting new and not so new members and growing the membership as we try to secure a Labour government.
