Dr Elizabeth Bell
Minutes Secretary / Policy Officer
Liz passionately believes in the importance of education, research and innovation to our economy and society, and that inequalities need to be tackled so that all people, regardless of their backgrounds, can share in future prosperity. She believes that social justice issues have to be effectively addressed if the UK is to be able to cope as a country in future (such as the lack of affordable housing, an ageing population and the increasing automation of jobs in various sectors)
Liz has a PhD in the area of science and technology policy and works in education, research and innovation policy and management. This has included posts working as a British diplomat (First Secretary Science) to advise the Russian Government on redesigning their research and innovation policies, and most recently working with the UK National Commission for UNESCO to set up the Newton Prize for international development in science and innovation.
