Lord Adonis to speak in Newbury, 30th July 2019, 6.00 – 8.00pm, The Salvation Army Hall.
All welcome, please book early!
We are delighted to welcome Andrew Adonis – Labour peer, Vice Chair of European Movement, Ex-Transport Secretary and Schools Minister, and outspoken critic of the Government’s handling of Brexit – to speak to us here in Newbury on 30 July 2019.
Andrew has been constant in his pursuit of a better future for the country, faced with the divisive and deeply uncertain effect of Brexit on us all. In his latest book, “Saving Britain: How we must change to prosper in Europe”, written with Will Hutton, Andrew asserts that Britain’s Brexit voters are right; they have been shamefully neglected. But he says that it’s time to change Britain, not leave Europe, which despite its frailties is a success story.
Doors will open at 6pm for a 6.15pm start. We welcome questions on the night but to make sure it’s included, please email your question in advance to firstname.lastname@example.org
The event will be chaired by Jonny Roberts, who was Labour’s Parliamentary candidate for Newbury at the 2015 General election and ran Newbury Labour’s IN Campaign during the 2016 referendum.
We look forward to a friendly and constructive debate and welcome people with a diversity of views, from across the political spectrum. Free entry to Newbury Labour Party members. Members of other local parties and the public are very welcome – we will ask for a voluntary and discretionary donation of £3 on the door.
Labour members may register on our CLP webpage to secure a place. Non-Labour members are welcome to email email@example.com to secure a place or take a chance and turn up on the night. Follow us on Twitter for updates, @Newburyclp or on our Facebook page, Newbury Labour Party.
6 – 8pm, 30 July 2019, The Salvation Army Hall, Northcroft Lane, Newbury, RG141BU.
