A former Fire Service Watch Commander, Gary Puffett has a long career in looking after the community. Once, he even drove a Fire Engine from Kent to Minsk in aid of those affected by the Chernobyl disaster. However, these days he uses his Fire Safety knowledge in an advisory role and volunteers locally. He is also our Chair of Newbury & West Berkshire Labour Party. Among his numerous political engagements, he has been a member of a trade union since 1981 and supports the Gurkha veterans with their ongoing struggle for equality. Locally, Gary passionately believes in affordable housing, protecting the vulnerable and retaining community. On a national level, he is an advocate for social justice and believes education to be one of the nations top priorities.
